MSC Motocross Round 2 Highlights https://xtremeracingnetwork.com/msc-motocross-round-2-highlights/ Sun, 19 Apr 2015 01:40:00 +0000 http://xtremeracingnetwork.com/?p=1060 Echo Valley Motocross was the location of Round 2 of the MSC Championship Motocross Series.  Tucked away in the hills of Ravena, NY, the weather couldn’t have been better.  Although the snow had melted just in time and frost was still coming out of the ground, track owner Dave Flach and his staff worked tirelessly to prepare the facility for this first event.  “We plowed snow off the track with the dozer three weeks ago!” said Dave.

This event was a Kawasaki Contingency event as well as contingency from Fly Racing and DP Brakes.

Full gates of classes ripped off moto after moto on the hilly country side.  Most notable results were:

MSC Motocross Round 1 Highlights https://xtremeracingnetwork.com/msc-motocross-round-1-highlights/ Mon, 30 Mar 2015 02:07:32 +0000 http://xtremeracingnetwork.com/?p=794 A brisk 12 degrees was the temperature at 7AM at the Orange County Fair Motocross Sunday, March 29th.  Where many tracks were still waiting for the snow to stop, riders were lining up for the first gate drop of the season.  Practice got underway by 9:30AM and racing commenced at 11AM.

The track was slick and hard early on in the day.  Ruts were forming and once the temps started to climb, the track really came around good.

There were some fierce battles going on all day long in many classes.   One in particular was the Open A class, where long time MSC riders Carlo Coen and Davey Sterritt ran down the competition.  In Moto 1, Sterritt took off and gapped the field to take the moto win.  Coen would close in behind Tyler Loud and would capitalized after Loud #55 crashed in a turn from a mechanical failure.  Coen #67 would move into second place where he would finish the race.

Moto 2, it was Coen who would take the lead out of the gate.  For most of the race, Coen had a gap on the field. That was until Sterritt #289 would close in, in the last 2 laps.  Coen would fend Sterritt off taking the moto win and the overall victory for the day.

Open A Results OCFMX Mar29-15

All in all, the day went well considering the tough weather conditions.  We want to thank the staff at OCFMX for providing a good track and of course the riders for showing their support of the MSC in 2015.

2015 MSC Racing Season starts March 29th, 2015 https://xtremeracingnetwork.com/2015-msc-racing-season-starts-march-29th-2015/ Fri, 20 Mar 2015 03:25:41 +0000 http://jhfmediagroup.com/xtremeracingnetwork/?p=287 Metropolitan Sports Committee is about to kick off the 2015 season on March 29th, 2015.  The Northeast was pounded over the last month and a half with frigid temps and snow that won’t leave!  The weather forecast shows a break though, its coming next week.  With above 40 degree temps on the way, that means the snow and frost in the ground will melt rather quickly.

Rider count for 2015 is right on track and preparation for a full gate of racers will be a must if you plan on racing with us.  If you have not registered with the MSC, it is highly recommended you do so before the first few events to avoid a long line at the registration booth and possibly the loss of your available riding number for the season.

Don’t forget the colors of number plates are strictly enforced with the MSC.  Colors as follows:

Black with white numbers:  Novice

Yellow with black numbers: Youth and Amateur

White with black numbers: Expert

Red with white numbers: Girls/Women

Vendors will be onsite with numbers and backgrounds for those who do not get preprinted backgrounds in advance.

We are glad the season is almost here and cannot wait to hear the sound of the first gate drop.
Hope you chose MSC as your series.

Sincerely,
MSC MOTOCROSS

MSC 2014 Awards Banquet https://xtremeracingnetwork.com/msc-2014-awards-banquet/ Fri, 20 Feb 2015 03:27:14 +0000 http://jhfmediagroup.com/xtremeracingnetwork/?p=289 On February 15th, 2015, motocross riders from all over the northeast trekked through the ice and snow to the Hudson Valley Resort & Spa in the quaint mountain town called Kerhonkson, New York.

With the entries to the banquet growing year after year, we had to expand the area we used once again.   This is such a good sign of the health of our sports committee.  MSC is now 56 years old and the representation of 3 generations from the Stempel family shows the commitment of our members.

Just like your commitment, MSC has worked extremely hard to to secure the prizes that were given out and raffled off.  No other banquet can boast the offerings we have, and we are very proud of that.  Two brand new motocross bikes were raffled off.  Big Boyz Toys Kawasaki of Marlboro, NY gave the MSC a great deal on the 2015 Kawasaki KX250F and KX450F.  Those bikes were #38 and #39 of bikes raffled off to our riders over the many years we have done this, which is over $195,000 in motorcycles raffled.   These figures are astonishing.

Special mention to Jim Moroney’s Cycle, whose raffle of their GoPro Hero 4 camera was once again a big success.

As always, a big thank you to Steve & Leslie Loving from Vintage 54.  Their dedication to the MSC and motocross is strong and long lasting.  Their great pictures make for long lasting memories that will last a lifetime.  Thank you.
